Dwight Wise, Sr.

Dwight Wise, Sr., Sandusky County, was dedicated to improving agriculture and was willing to share his knowledge to help others.

He and two sons operated an 850 acre grain, dairy and beef cattle farm.

Mr. Wise served as first chairman of the Sandusky County Soil Conservation District and later as a director of the Ohio Soil Conservation District Board.

As a member of local and county school boards, he advocated consolidation of school districts.

In 1969 he received the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation Distinguished Service Award.

He served as state chairman of the Agricultural Adjustment Administration for eight years and in Washington as a collaborator of special commodity programs.

He served as a director of the Cleveland Milk Producers Federation, Northern Ohio PCA, NOBA, Farmers Union and Sandusky County Rural Serv, Inc.

Mr. Wise was very active in local church and civic organizations.
