Richard Dawson

Richard Dawson of Delaware is a recognized leader in the pork industry. He constructed one of the first swine confinement buildings in Ohio and shared the value of it with other pork producers. He is also active in groups striving for improvements in rural communities.

He has instructed groups and individuials on the techniques of castrating young pigs, which has led to saved labor for producers. He also   conducted numerous tours of his facilities for 4-H groups, local grade schools, international visitors, news media, college students, youth conferences and young farmers. He has hosted the Ohio Senate and House Agriculture Committees, showing them the farm operation and how they deal with chemicals and waste management.
