John T. Mount

John T. Mount, Columbus, is a renowned educator who has devoted 60 years to serving OSU and all phases of Ohio agriculture. He began his career as an Extension agent and following his service in World War II returned to OSU College of Agriculture as an assistant 4-H supervisor, later junior dean and secretary of the college. He continued to influence decisions affecting Ohio's agriculture as he became secretary of the Board of Trustees and secretary of the Board of Control for OARDC.

Mount has received state, national and international recognition based on his contributions to agriculture. However, the highest award given was in 1993, when a building at OSU, which houses the Division of Continuing Education, and other offices was named John T. Mount Hall, in honor of his service to The Ohio State University. His dedication and willingness to help others is evident.
