Wib H. Justi

Wib Justi graduated from Berlin Heights High School and earned a BS in agriculture from The Ohio State University in 1941. He is best known for his 66 years of involvement and leadership in the local, county, university, state, national and international Grange where he devoted his life to promoting farmer consumer understanding, community service and family values. In 1950, Justi consulted with the International Federation of Agricultural Producers and USDA to develop an exchange plan between young farmers from foreign countries and U.S. host farm families. For 54 years he coordinated the Germany USA Agricultural Friendship Program involving 500 German young farmers and an equal number of American host farm families. The program is celebrating its second and third generation exchanges of both young farmers and host families, where Justi has helped place 1,718 young people from 39 countries. Ohio is one of the nation's leading states in this program largely due to Justi's lifelong investment in its success.

Justi's career included 18 years with the National Grange in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame and an honorary State Farmer of the Ohio FFA. Throughout his life he has held dozen of leadership roles and is currently a trustee of the National Jr. Horticulture Foundation, Ohio State Grange Consultant, Alpha Gamma Rho 2004 national convention committee and is a life member of the OSU Alumni Association.
