Wiliam Preston Stalter

Wiliam Preston Stalter has served Ohio's "green industry" for more than a quarter century as executive director of the Ohio Nursery & Landscape Association (ONLA) and has guided the nationally recognized organization to increased levels of service.

The Central Environmental Nursery Trade Show "CENTS" expanded under Bill's guidance and is now the best attended show of its kind in the country. In 2006, the show expanded to 1,300 booths occupied by 60 firms from 38 states, Canada and Austria with more than 12,700 attendees.

Bill has been instrumental in fostering ONLA's strong working relationship with OSU. The "CENTS" show is held annually in concert with OSU's Nursery Short Course. An original member of the Chadwick Arboretum Advisory Committee, president of the Ohio Plant Science Advisory Council and a member of the Vice President's Advisory Board in the College of FAES, Bill has been a leader in the noteworthy partnership with teaching. Under his leadership, the OSU Nursery and Landscape Horticulture Endowment was established, and he has been a supporter of OSU's Extension Nursery Landscape Turf team.

Bill has served as president of the Nursery & Landscape Association Executives of North America, the Ohio Agricultural Council and is the current president of the Ohio Horticulture & Crop Science Council at OSU.

Bill and his wife Patty reside in Westerville and have four children, Scott, Dawn, Brian and Ildar.
