A.I. (Irv) Bell

A.I. (Irv) Belland his family own and operate Bell Farms Ag LLC in Zanesville, an 850-head sow farm. The family also farms about 1,600 acres of grain. Bell has devoted decades of years and hours of his time and resources in service to the agriculture community. A recognized leader, Bell has spearheaded efforts to address major farm industry issues, including farmland preservation, risk management, the changing future of animal agriculture and national strategic planning.

He has served on boards, commissions and organizations at county, state and national levels, including serving as president of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, a current board member of the Nationwide Insurance company and serving as president of the PGI Pork Marketing Cooperative.

A 36 year member of the Muskingum County Farm Bureau, Bell also has held leadership positions with a number of state and national commodity groups, including the Ohio Pork Producers Council.

Bell Farms has been awarded numerous state and national awards for excellence and environmental stewardship including the 1975 Ohio Farm Bureau Outstanding Young Couple, 1995 Ohio State University Animal Science Hall of Fame and the 2007 Farm Family Conservation award. He also was recently awarded the National Pork Congress All-American award.

Bell played an integral role in the planning and development of the Nationwide/Ohio Farm Bureau Federation 4-H Youth Center on the campus of The Ohio State University.

He and his wife Jean have two children, Matt and Jason.
